Keeping you safe at the market

We’re working closely with West Midlands Police and Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands to keep our visitors, stallholders and market staff safe.

When visiting the market, you might see police officers and security staff on-site – don’t be alarmed, they’re there to keep an eye out to make sure everyone is able to enjoy themselves safely.

Project Servator deployments also take place in and around our market area. They can happen anywhere, at any time, and it’s likely that the officers involved will speak to you about what they are doing. They may also ask for your help to be their extra eyes and ears while you’re out and about, so please feel free to chat to them. These deployments are made up of a range of police resources. Some are highly visible, such as uniformed police officers, dogs or drones. Others are less visible, such as plain clothes officers or CCTV operators.

If you see or hear something that doesn’t feel right, report it to security staff or police straight away, don’t wait for someone else to do it. You’ll never be wasting our time as your safety is our priority. In an emergency, call 999.

Trust your instincts and let’s keep each other safe this Christmas.
